Kovač confirms Bensebaini foot injury blow before Dortmund’s Gladbach trip | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund look likely to be without Ramy Bensebaini for Sunday’s trip to Borussia Mönchengladbach after the defender suffered a foot injury.

According to BuLi News, Niko Kovač said on Thursday that the Algerian was hurt in last week’s 4-0 win over SC Freiburg, where he scored and provided an assist. He has not trained and his foot remains swollen, so a weekend return appears unlikely.

Kovač added that Niklas Süle is still unavailable. Felix Nmecha is progressing and on schedule, but has not yet trained with the team and does not look likely to face Gladbach, with Frankfurt next week a possible checkpoint.

Karim Adeyemi took part in parts of training on Thursday and is on a better path. Emre Can remains sidelined with an ACL injury.

Yan Couto and Jobe Bellingham missed training on Wednesday and Thursday due to illness, but both are expected to be fit for Sunday.
