With Anthony Gordon’s transfer secured, the complete focus of FC Barcelona at the moment is to finalise a deal for Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez.
At the same time, the sporting department, led by director Deco, continues to be alert in the market over opportunities to strengthen other areas in the squad.
In that regard, Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro has emerged as a target for the La Liga champions, to act as backup to first-choice shot-stopper Joan Garcia.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Real Sociedad have already accepted the possibility of Remiro leaving the club this summer.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper, whose contract runs until 2027, has communicated his intention to seek a new challenge, and the Basque club are prepared to facilitate his departure if an offer between €8 million and €10 million arrives at Anoeta.

Remiro’s name remains firmly on Barcelona’s agenda. Hansi Flick particularly values the goalkeeper’s experience, reliability and ability with the ball at his feet, while Deco has already made enquiries in order to understand the player’s situation first-hand.
However, Barcelona are not currently in a position to move decisively for the operation.
Barcelona’s immediate priority is to resolve the overcrowded goalkeeping situation within the current squad.
Garcia is considered untouchable after joining the club last year, while Wojciech Szczesny is expected to remain for another season in order to complete the final year of his contract.
At the same time, the club are working to find exits for both Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Inaki Pena, who have completed their respective loan spells last season at Girona and Elche.
Until movement takes place in that regard, Barcelona’s financial flexibility will continue to remain limited.

Meanwhile, Remiro is waiting calmly regarding his future. The Real Sociedad goalkeeper is not rushing to make a final decision and continues to view Barcelona as one of his preferred destinations.
In England, Aston Villa are monitoring his situation closely, while Crystal Palace also remain attentive. The goalkeeper has additionally attracted interest from clubs in Italy, Germany and elsewhere in La Liga.
For their part, Real Sociedad would ideally prefer him to see out the remainder of his contract, but the club have now effectively opened the door to his departure.
