Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed Jean-Mattéo Bahoya has joined Leeds United on an initial season-long loan that includes a mandatory purchase clause. The 21-year-old moves to the Premier League for 2026/27, with the obligation ensuring a permanent transfer.

Sport Bild reports Leeds will pay a guaranteed €30m to complete the deal. The arrangement mirrors a similar transfer finalised earlier on deadline day.

Though filed as a loan, the structure locks in Bahoya’s permanent exit, with Frankfurt recognising the transfer income later rather than upfront. The club used the same mechanism for Hugo Larsson’s move to Fulham earlier on deadline day.

Bahoya departs after two-and-a-half years in Germany. Frankfurt paid about €8m to sign him from Angers SCO in January 2024, and his estimated market value rose to €25m.

He made 78 competitive appearances and scored seven goals. Renowned for his acceleration, he became one of the Bundesliga’s quickest while adding greater tactical responsibility and end product.

Frankfurt reached a verbal agreement with Hull City over the weekend, but Bahoya turned it down, leaving his future open into deadline day. Leeds then moved swiftly.
