Leeds United and Daniel Farke have received a timely fitness boost, with Anton Stach set to return from Germany duty largely unspent after remaining on the bench against Ghana.

As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the midfielder earned a first Germany call-up in four years for warm-up friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana.

Competition in midfield limited him to a 10-minute cameo against Switzerland, introduced at 3-3 before Germany edged a 4-3 win. Club team-mate Noah Okafor was an unused substitute for the Swiss.

In Stuttgart on Monday, the £17m summer signing stayed unused as Germany beat Ghana 2-1, with Kai Havertz and Deniz Undav on target. Despite eight substitutions made, Julian Nagelsmann did not turn to Stach.

Stach has been near ever-present for Leeds, missing only a handful of Premier League games through injury. He played 90 minutes in four demanding fixtures before the break, against Manchester City, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

He now returns to West Yorkshire with only 10 minutes under his belt during the interval. Leeds visit West Ham for an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, then have a full week before their Premier League trip to Manchester United on Monday, April 13.

It remains to be seen how strong a side Farke fields at the London Stadium, balancing a potential Wembley run with the overriding aim of top-flight survival. Victory would build momentum, although those involved could risk injury.

Farke will welcome another international returning unscathed and refreshed. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also not featured this week after England sent him back following his substitute outing against Uruguay.
