Leeds United appoint 'exceptional' analyst Matthew Jenkins from Cardiff City | OneFootball

Leeds United have appointed Matthew Jenkins as first-team performance analyst ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Wales Online first reported that the long-serving Cardiff City staffer had completed a move to Elland Road, and his LinkedIn now lists the role.

Jenkins spent eight years at Cardiff, starting in 2018 as under-23 performance analyst and serving last season as head first-team performance analyst. Last season proved his final year at the club.

He worked closely with head coach Brian Barry-Murphy as the Bluebirds finished second in League One, securing promotion to the Championship.

Barry-Murphy praised Jenkins last summer, describing his work as of the highest quality, calling him exceptional and saying the analyst had blown him away.
