Leeds United have held initial talks with Marseille winger Igor Paixao’s representatives, according to Foot Mercato.

The 26-year-old Brazilian international has emerged as a key target as manager Daniel Farke strives to add additional flair and goalscoring threat to his squad.

The ‘dangerous‘ winger is viewed as an ideal player to boost Leeds’ final-third potency. However, negotiating a deal with Marseille will be tricky.

Marseille are demanding a premium fee of €50 million before considering any departure for the former Feyenoord star, who is under a long-term contract in France.

Having brought Paixao to Ligue 1 last year, the French giants are under no pressure to sell unless their financial demands are met in full.

Leeds value the Brazilian forward between €30m and €35m, creating a significant gap between the two clubs.

They are cautious about overextending their recruitment budget and are keen to structure a deal that fits within their financial parameters.

If a compromise is reached on the transfer fee, personal terms are not expected to pose a major obstacle, given the initial talks with the player’s camp.
