Leeds have tied Ethan Ampadu to 2030, and attention now turns to a surprise candidate for the next Elland Road renewal, Anton Stach. The Wales international’s extension signposts the club’s long-term intent.

TeamTalk reports that the Germany international is among the players Leeds want to build around after a standout 2025-26 campaign. That places him in contention for a fresh deal this summer.

He still has three years left on the contract agreed after joining from Hoffenheim, and clubs rarely revisit terms this quickly unless the impact is exceptional.

Ilia Gruev, Brenden Aaronson and Pascal Struijk are among those whose deals run to 2027. In most cases they would be ahead in the queue, so moving Stach up would underline his importance.

The numbers back it up. Stach produced five goals and three assists, with 63 chances created and nine big chances fashioned.

Out of possession he registered 119 recoveries, 65 tackles and 155 ground duels won, highlighting his two-way influence.

He is ranked as the second-best signing in the Premier League. Rewarding him so soon after arrival would further illuminate Leeds’ strategy following Ampadu’s extension.
