Leeds United’s attacking rebuild is under way after Harry Wilson signed a four-year deal, with further additions targeted to sharpen Daniel Farke’s options. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the club want difference-making quality and extra competition up front.

Leeds waited 10 months to land Wilson on a free, and he arrives off a Premier League season of 10 goals and seven assists for Fulham.

They want competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as shown by January interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen, and will not overlook any special chance to strengthen. The hope is to travel to Nottingham Forest on August 22 with serious attacking firepower.

Calvert-Lewin is an obvious keep after a superb free-transfer return of 14 goals last season, and a full pre-season should help, though rivalry is needed. Lukas Nmecha is also worth keeping, with six Premier League goals despite some hold-up play issues, as a potential third-choice option.

Joel Piroe looks a sale, having not started a league game after August and failing to score, with the move to physicality not suiting him. A departure could bring in £10-15m. Teenager Harry Gray will go on loan to Sheffield Wednesday after impressing at Rotherham.

Mateo Joseph continues ACL rehab after his Mallorca loan ended early, with a January move possible if he is fit. The final piece would be a top-level striker, with Strand Larsen only a placeholder for that profile. Leeds were ready to commit close to £40m in January and will probably need a similar outlay, with no concrete links yet.
