Leeds United’s ideal attacking setup for next season is taking shape, with analysis of who stays, who goes and where to add. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the aim is to arrive at Nottingham Forest on August 22 with serious firepower, even if exits are required.

Harry Wilson has already arrived on a four-year deal after a free transfer, following 10 goals and seven assists for Fulham last season. Leeds waited 10 months to land him and see him as the first of several attacking upgrades.

Keep: Dominic Calvert-Lewin. A standout free last summer with 14 goals, he should benefit from a full pre-season, though proper competition remains a must.

Keep: Lukas Nmecha. Another free who delivered six Premier League goals, many key, even if some hold-up play demands proved challenging. As a potential third-choice, he is worth retaining.

Sell: Joel Piroe. He did not start a Premier League game after August and failed to score, with Leeds’ shift to physicality not suiting him. A summer move looks necessary for minutes and could bring in £10-15m.

Loan: Harry Gray. The 17-year-old impressed at Rotherham and will spend next season at Sheffield Wednesday, with hopes of regular football and more goals.

Keep: Mateo Joseph. His Mallorca loan ended early due to an ACL injury, with rehab ongoing at Leeds and a possible January move if fit.

Sign: A top-level striker. Jorgen Strand Larsen is a placeholder after January interest, but the brief is clear, elite competition for Calvert-Lewin. Leeds were ready to commit close to £40m then and will probably need something similar, with no concrete links yet.
