Leicester City face a race to finish business before the 11pm Tuesday deadline, with Plymouth Argyle at home complicating late deals. They have made 10 signings, most recently Ilari Kangasniemi.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the focus is an experienced centre-back and a defensive midfielder, while another striker has not been ruled out.
Defensive options include Rangers' John Souttar, excluded all season, plus former Russell Martin charges Joel Latibeaudiere and Warren O'Hora.
In midfield, Louis Page has impressed during Oliver Skipp's suspension, yet experience to support him is still sought. Wrexham's George Dobson and Matty James are options, with Dobson expected to leave before the deadline.
Up front, Martin has not closed the door on adding a forward. Wrexham's Davis Keillor-Dunn could arrive on loan, though Blackburn are also keen.
City have banked record League One exits for Abdul Fatawu and Jeremy Monga and moved on Harry Winks, Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen, with Hamza Choudhury expected to join Sheffield United.
Caleb Okoli has loan interest from Cagliari but injury may keep him. Harry Souttar stays unless the £10m price is met, and if he goes City would need two centre-backs.
Woyo Coulibaly and Skipp could depart on loan, with academy trio Riley Carr, Tommy Neale and Kevon Gray also candidates. Contract priorities include Sammy Braybrooke, Jakub Stolarczyk, Will Alves and Jayden Joseph.
Leicester still seek a first league win in three, and three points against Plymouth, alongside smart late additions, would be the ideal finish.
