Liverpool require a Champions League comeback at Anfield as Arne Slot’s side look to overturn their first-leg defeat at Galatasaray and save their season from sliding off the rails.

The criticism of last season’s Premier League champions has intensified following last week’s 1-0 defeat in Istanbul, which was followed by the dropping of precious points in a poor 1-1 draw at home to struggling Tottenham on Sunday.

The boos which greeted full-time in that game signalled the pressure Slot would be under should Liverpool fail to progress from the last-16 and respond to Mario Lemina’s first-leg winner –although the Reds have previous for turning European ties around at Anfield.
