With the window entering its final stretch and LaLiga Hypermotion under way, Luciano Vietto is targeting a return to Spain. Radio MARCA Baleares reports that the 32-year-old is seeking a move to the Segunda División after leaving San Lorenzo.
The Argentine forward wants to relaunch his career in Spain following three seasons back home. He previously featured for Villarreal, Atlético Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia.
Vietto struggled for stability after his time at Mestalla. Atlético paid 20 million euros in 2015, but he went on consecutive loans to Sevilla, Valencia and Fulham, then joined Sporting for 7.5 million euros. A year later, Sporting sold him to Al Hilal for a similar fee.
He scored five goals for Valencia, then continued in Saudi Arabia on loan at Al Shabab, where he played alongside former Valencia midfielder Éver Banega.
Vietto later signed for Al Qadsiah as a free agent and delivered 17 goals, his best haul since his debut season at Villarreal when he hit 20. After Saudi Arabia he returned to Racing Club de Avellaneda for two years.
Last season he made 14 appearances and scored three times for San Lorenzo, which was not enough to secure his stay in Almagro. He is now aiming for a Segunda opportunity to revive his career.
