In a recent report, The Daily Mail claimed that Manchester City are among the clubs hoping to recruit Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian giants are keen on recruiting the English talent this off-season.
Branthwaite endured a season plagued with injuries at Everton, but managed to put in a few solid displays for them on the defensive end of the pitch. The 23-year-old participated in ten matches for the Toffees last season, scoring one goal and grabbing one assist across various competitions.
The English sensation is currently one of the most gifted centre-backs in the Premier League. However, his recent injury record makes him a risky choice for the Mancunian club to pursue in this transfer window.
His current contract at the Merseyside club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Man City to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Branthwaite is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to make important interceptions for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and is a strong runner with the ball.
The English defensive ace can even chip in by scoring the odd goal for his side and is proficient at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.95m, Branthwaite can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. He has got some valuable experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club.
Branthwaite would bring more bite and steel to Man City’s defence. He is good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad in the coming seasons.
At 23, Branthwaite has got his peak years ahead of him. He will also help Man City challenge across all fronts over the next few years. However, Branthwaite has to figure out a way to overcome his injury problems if he wants to be a success story at the Etihad Stadium in the long run. Still, Man City should consider snapping him up later this year.
