Benfica could face a right-back problem if Alexander Bah’s injury proves serious, according to Glorioso 1904. The right-back was forced off with a forearm complaint in the 17th minute against Marítimo.

Bah collided with Paulo Henrique, Marítimo’s left-back. He stayed down with his arm immobilised, was replaced by Jakub Kaminski, then went straight to the dressing room.

With Amar Dedic now at Newcastle, Daniel Banjaqui is the only specialist right-back in the squad. Silva had already identified this risk.

The staff are reluctant to shift Aursnes to the right again. The Denmark international is seen as important, and Silva wanted to avoid repeated improvisation in such a specific role.

With the window closed, the only external route would be free agents. For now, Banjaqui is the available option on the right, but at 18 the coach has reservations about starting him for a prolonged spell.
