Beth Mead says she’s excited to help City build on last season’s double-winning success.
The England international joins the Club from fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Arsenal, on the back of our WSL and FA Cup triumphs in 2025/26.
Mead moves to the Joie Stadium with an impressive CV, which includes Euro 2022 and 2025 success with England as well as UEFA Champions League and WSL medals from her time with the Gunners.
And our new number seven is confident City can reach even greater heights in the coming seasons, insisting the feeling of winning silverware creates a hunger for more.
Asked about her ambitions in Manchester, Mead said: “Trophies. I’m here to win.
“I’ve won things in the past and I want to keep winning things moving forward with City. Why not go for it all?
“We’ve got the Champions League this season, once you win something you become hungrier to win it more.
“That winning feeling will never get old, and I think it’ll be a hungry team next year that I’m looking forward to being a part of.”

This may take a few seconds. Press play when it’s ready.
Mead is no stranger to her new City team-mates and supporters having been a key player for Arsenal over the past nine seasons.
The two sides have served up some classic encounters during that time, with the Blues pipping the Gunners to the post in the 2025/26 WSL title race.
Our new recruit admits she’s always admired City’s style of play and feels it’s perfectly suited to maximising her own game in the coming years.
“I think over the years it’s always been about who gets their tactics right and executes them the best,” Mead added about previous battles with City.
“Two very good footballing teams, I just think this season City have found that way to win, however it looks.
“I think sometimes it’s easy to say that and then execute it, but they’ve done that to a T this year.
“I love the way they play, the freedom they get when they’re playing, and I think that’s something that’ll really suit me as a player, so hopefully I can help bring something new to the team.”
