Milan forward Ramos after scoring for Portugal: ‘A great victory’ | OneFootball

Goncalo Ramos was handed a start ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in Oslo and repaid Jorge Jesus with the winner as Portugal beat Norway 2-1.

Posting on Instagram afterwards, the Milan striker wrote: “Great victory! Come on Portugal.”

Ramos punishes Nyland error

Joao Felix had put the holders ahead on 20 minutes before Erling Haaland levelled six minutes into the second half, tapping in from Patrick Berg’s header. The lead lasted three minutes. Orjan Nyland played the ball straight to Ramos, who chipped it into an empty net for his 12th international goal.

He thought he had a second when Nyland erred again, only for VAR to rule it out for a marginal offside. Portugal have won both their opening Nations League fixtures and lead Group A4, having ended Norway’s 14-match unbeaten run at home.

The goal is timely as the forward arrived at Milan this summer as the focal point of Ruben Amorim’s attack and has scored once in Serie A, a return that has drawn scrutiny even as the coaching staff praise his link-up play.
