New drone footage shows significant progress on Leeds United’s Elland Road redevelopment, with West Stand works advancing soon after the 2025/26 season ended. Plans aim to increase capacity to 53,000 through North and West Stand projects, hoped to be fully complete by 2030.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, initial filming at the end of May captured the start of activity at the West Stand, and a fresh update dated Tuesday, June 9 charts further changes.

The ticket office that was partially demolished in earlier clips has now been removed entirely, and work has progressed on the banqueting suite behind the West Stand. Earlier footage showed Portakabins used by visiting teams being removed, while roughly a third of the external structure on that side has been taken down, with the away fans tunnel in the same area also cleared.

A temporary building is taking shape behind the North Stand, started towards the end of the season and expected to house corporate facilities during the upgrade. Inside the ground, the turf has been lifted ahead of pitch preparation for next term.

Activity around the West Stand technical areas includes dugouts being removed and screening erected. Pitch and dugout work is due to finish before next season, while wider expansion will run through 2026/27 with phased scheduling aimed at avoiding seat losses, so some disruption is anticipated.
