Neymar misses Santos tactical session for third day running | OneFootball

Santos held another session at CT Rei Pelé on Saturday as preparations continued for the fifth round against Mirassol. Neymar sat out on-field work for the third day running, continuing strength and load-control exercises indoors after knee surgery. The club said the situation is not a concern and is part of his physical management.

He is expected to resume on-field training on Sunday, with the expectation that he will start on Tuesday.

While Neymar works indoors, coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda has used the sessions to test different formations and tactical options. He has tweaked the team structure through the week as he assesses choices for the fixture.

Beyond the league fixture, the forward has a personal target in the coming weeks. The matches against Mirassol and Corinthians on 15 at Vila Belmiro are seen as important chances to try to return to the Brazil national team.

For Tuesday, Vojvoda should have almost the entire squad available. A potential addition is midfielder Christian Oliva, who has trained with the group since last week and is now registered on the CBF’s BID.

Centre-back Lucas Veríssimo is not expected to feature. Recently signed, he remains in Qatar resolving logistical matters amid the conflict in the Middle East and has not yet travelled to join the squad.
