Nottingham Forest intend to build on Vitor Pereira’s platform this summer, prioritising early deals and stability for 2026/27.
According to Nottingham Post, Pereira has warned that pre-season mistakes often prove costly. Forest finished strongly to secure survival with two games left and want to use that momentum.
Forest want a swift European return after a Europa League semi-final, but first come renewals. Murillo’s new deal to 2030 signalled intent.
Clarifying the head coach’s future is important, and Pereira has said agreement should not be difficult. Neco Williams, Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez could also be offered fresh terms.
Forest are thought to want to keep goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, though he is out of contract. Decisions also loom on Matz Sels, Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi, each with 12 months left.
Avoiding another drawn-out saga is a priority after last summer’s Morgan Gibbs-White situation ended with a new deal. A strong World Cup for Elliot Anderson would raise his value. If he does go, Pereira has said any major departure must be replaced and he wants early business.
Replacing Anderson would be a significant task, so any search should not be left late. Pereira’s February arrival fostered spirit, unity and better performances to build on at the Nigel Doughty Academy. Returns for Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ola Aina, Murillo, Nicolo Savona and John Victor would help.
He wants a balanced group, core retained and a few targeted additions, with newcomers in early to integrate before August.
