Nottingham Forest face a significant off-season after Vitor Pereira, who became the club’s fourth head coach in February, guided them to safety with room to spare. He has underlined the importance of the months ahead. The aim now is to climb the Premier League in 2026/27 and rekindle European ambitions.
According to Nottingham Post, the summer transfer window opens on Monday, June 15 and closes at 11pm on Tuesday, September 1. Incomings and outgoings are on the cards, though Pereira has said he wants to keep the core of his squad together.
The Premier League fixtures are due at 10am on Friday, June 19, letting supporters start planning. Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City join the division.
The 2026/27 season kicks off on the weekend of August 22, slightly later because the World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19. The 22 August start provides 89 days from the end of last season and 33 days from the World Cup final.
The final round is on Sunday, May 30, 2027, and Forest will hope to avoid final-day jeopardy. There is a two-week international break from September 26 to the weekend of Saturday, October 10, with nations able to play up to four fixtures. Another break follows in November, ending on the 14th, and no two Premier League matches will kick off within 60 hours over Christmas.
