Oviedo lead Valencia 1-0 at half-time on matchday 28, captain David Costas breaking through at the Tartiere.
According to AS, the centre-back, returning after a month and a half out, scored his first goal in Primera.
The opener came from a short corner on the left. Thiago Fernández took the return, skipped past Ramazani and cut the ball back to the near post, where Costas guided in beyond Dimitrievski.
Valencia threatened in patches, Javi Guerra drove through midfield to tee up Thierry, whose effort from the edge was spilled by Escandell, drawing complaints from Danjuma. Earlier, Ramazani flashed one just wide and another tame Javi Guerra attempt was cleared by Escandell.
Right before the interval, Dimitrievski produced a superb save with his boot to deny Thiago Fernández after an Oviedo counter from a poorly taken Valencia corner. Two minutes were added before the whistle.
Nacho Vidal was booked for a pull on Gayà after advantage, and a Valencia centre-back was also cautioned for an aerial elbow on Fede Viñas. An Argentine then went in late on Thierry and was shown yellow, while Sadiq’s raised boot on Costas was penalised for dangerous play.
Bailly blocked a low Gayà cross to snuff out another opening. At the break, possession stood at 52.5-47.5, shots were 4-4 and yellow cards 2-2, with offsides 2-1.
