Lorient staged a weekend of centenary celebrations around their Ligue 1 meeting with Paris FC at Le Moustoir on Sunday. The programme spanned parades, concerts, murals and a one-off shirt, with the match finishing 1-1.
Bamba Dieng put Lorient ahead on 54 minutes, Marshall Munetsi equalised on 74 minutes. The club said in a statement that the commemorative kit was a vibrant homage to its history.
The party began on Friday with a parade, then moved to the city hall square on Saturday afternoon. Concerts and live radio shows featured Loïc Féry, Laurent Koscielny and others. Signing sessions brought out Stéphane Pedron, Loïc Druon and Patrice Loko.
On Sunday the squad were applauded on the forecourt as they arrived. New murals marking key dates appeared in the Jean Floc'h stand concourse. Lorient wore a black, chequered one-off kit that nodded to the club's origins.
Inside the collar sat 'Club Centenaire' with four historic crests, and a reflective lenticular badge fused the first diamond emblem with the current logo. Names on the back honoured the first FCL side from 1926 that faced US Basse-Indre. A temporary museum showcased historic shirts, newspaper front pages, crests, the 2022 Coupe de France trophy and a Panini-style hall of fame.
After the warm-up, Paris FC formed a guard of honour for Lorient. Just before kick-off, several players posed with president Loïc Féry to recreate the 1926 pioneers' photo. Club legends, wearing FCL scarves, then took to the pitch to warm applause.
