According to Diario Vasco, Real Sociedad have finalised a permanent deal to sign Héctor Fort from Barcelona, paying eight and a half million euros for 60% of his rights. The club secured a slightly larger share after late discussions. He has agreed a long-term contract, with paperwork already being exchanged.
The move could be made official this weekend if formalities progress. For now, Fort remains in Barcelona and watched Barcelona against Athletic at Camp Nou on Thursday night.
The 20-year-old has not yet scheduled his trip to Donostia, though it is not expected to be delayed given the state of the agreement.
Dortmund had shown strong interest, but Real chose to strengthen at right-back and moved for Fort. The position had been under consideration since June, when another target was close.
Another late detail covered was Barcelona’s buy-back option for the coming years. Barcelona can re-sign him by paying a figure agreed between the clubs.
His release clause is set to be 60 million, the standard figure at Zubieta. The move gives Matarazzo a second summer addition after Real confirmed on Friday the loan arrival of Mamadou Sarr.
