Rob Edwards ‘turns down’ Burnley approach after Wolves exit | OneFootball

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Rob Edwards is understood to have turned down Burnley’s managerial vacancy after being approached about the role.

The 43-year-old was sacked by Wolves earlier this month, with Cesar Peixoto appointed as his replacement.

Edwards learned of plans to replace him via social media reports, then was dismissed the following morning by phone while on a family holiday.

Some senior Wolves staff were also unaware before the leak. Chairman Nathan Shi and owners Fosun made the decision, working with agent Jorge Mendes to finalise a deal for Peixoto.

Burnley were close to naming Wales boss Craig Bellamy but, when that move fell through, they turned to Edwards.
