SAFiel outlines talks lasting just over four hours with Corinthians board at Parque São Jorge | OneFootball

SAFiel met Corinthians’ hierarchy on Wednesday for over four hours to address questions on their SAF plan, not to sign it. According to Meu Timao, founders Eduardo Salusse and Carlos Teixeira said the talks were cordial after an initial airing of grievances.

Technical queries from directors and the Conselho Deliberativo will be compiled by Friday, with written replies due within a week. Salusse cast the meeting as a reset of communication.

He noted tensions over personal data exposure and abuse often pinned on SAFiel, which they described as a conduit for club news. They urged patience, citing divergent views and legal and financial doubts.

Club president Osmar Stabile, Deliberative Council chief Romeu Tuma Júnior, Cori president Miguel Marques and Audit Council president Haroldo Dantas attended, along with SAFiel’s Monitoring Committee, CAS. The group will circulate clear written answers before discussing next steps.

Teixeira said club figures were open to legal and financial debate, and that Tuma submitted a document collating questions from councillors and members. He called the exchange constructive and said a formal response will follow.

Amid fan protests, including a request for judicial intervention to São Paulo’s public prosecutor, a SAFiel petition has almost 105,000 signatures.

The proposal, delivered on 2 June, seeks R$ 2.5 billion, potentially R$ 3 billion, to cut debt and invest. It adds fan investment from R$ 250, safeguards identity with a reversion clause, and requires statutory and members’ approvals after due diligence and a vote.

Implementation would take one year.
