Santos have announced the signing of Everton Cebolinha, with the 30-year-old forward agreeing a contract running to 31 December 2026.

He terminated his deal with Flamengo to join as a free agent. The duration mirrors recent additions Arthur and Lima, the latter on loan from Fluminense.

Cebolinha will wear the number seven shirt, vacant since Robinho Jr left. He said he is fond of the number, described the shirt as heavy and the number special, and pledged to give his utmost to bring joy to Santos supporters.

There is a possibility of a further two-year renewal if both parties wish to continue once the current agreement ends.

He is expected to be available to coach Cuca for the Cruzeiro match in the 27th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, scheduled for Saturday at 21:00 Brasília time at Vila Belmiro.

His arrival answers a request from Cuca, who before the World Cup pause had underlined the need for a wide attacker strong one on one. Before the deal was struck, he was with Flamengo’s squad in Belém, Pará, but was released by the club to return to Rio de Janeiro and decide his future. Santos had pursued him since last year but were pessimistic amid interest from European and other Brazilian sides, a stance that shifted last week and led to an agreement.
