Sevilla are moving to finalise an agreement to ease Tanguy Nianzou’s departure and sharply reduce the wage bill. The defender has been given permission to resolve his future in France.

ABC de Sevilla reports that the board have decided to let him go at zero cost if he secures a club there. He has one year left on his deal and his net demands exceed eight million euros per season.

Nianzou is the biggest single hit to the squad’s salary limit, with an annual cost of 12 million euros once amortisation is included. By comparison, Arouna Sangante, Juan Iglesias and Jon Guridi, plus the renewed loan of Odysseas Vlachodimos, total about seven million euros.

Given that context, his exit has become a priority and the club have allowed him to skip the start of pre-season under Luis García Plaza. The intention is to give him freedom to find a move in his home country, where previous spells at PSG and Bayern still count in his favour.

Any agreement will hinge on him passing medical tests and aligning his financial expectations with a new club. Closing this urgent and complex case is now dominating Sevilla’s summer business.
