West Bromwich Albion owner Shilen Patel was in attendance for Friday’s draw with Wrexham.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Patel has attended as many home and away fixtures as he can, a contrast to the largely absent previous owner.
The match was framed as a meeting of US owners, with Albion facing a Wrexham team run by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Patel has recently drawn praise from supporters following publication of the club’s accounts. Losses were reduced to £17m, and he invested £31m across the 16 months between the takeover and the period end.
His ownership group also covered £5.2m in interest on MSD loans taken late in the Lai era. The outstanding balance stands at £25m on loans of £20m and £8m, repayable by December 2026.
Albion visit Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Monday, backed by 7,500 travelling fans after a bumper allocation. It is not yet clear if Patel will attend should he remain in the UK.
