Shocking stats confirm how Real Madrid trio has carried the team this season | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s start to the season has been explosive and the men in white have shown to be significantly better than they were at the end of last season under Carlo Ancelotti.

Xabi Alonso’s ideas for Los Blancos have largely worked well so far with the Madrid derby being the only black spot. The team has looked solid in defence, calm in midfield and explosive in attack.

Kylian Mbappe has led from the front in the forward department and has scored more than half of Real Madrid’s goals across all competitions.

His two biggest partners in crime, by far, have been Vinicius Jr. and Arda Guler.

Mbappe, Vinicius and Guler, in total, have scored 22 goals in total between them. Considering that Real Madrid have scored 26 in total, that accounts for close to 85% of the team’s goals.

Mbappe is enjoying one of the most explosive starts to a season in history having scored 14 goals in 10 games while Vinicius and Guler are also at career best starts to a season with five and three goals respectively.

The statistic only gets more astounding when one considers how the trio is dominating the assist charts as well.

Mbappe’s two and Guler and Vinicius’ four each mean that the trio has 10 assists to their name, which accounts to 52.6% of Real Madrid’s total assist tally of 19.

The trio’s numbers are understandable given that they work in tandem on the field and that their successes are highly interlinked.

For instance, all of Guler’s assists have been to Mbappe, three of Vinicius’ assists have been for Guler or Mbappe while the Frenchman has assisted his two partners in crime once each.

It is, thus, clear that the trident is Real Madrid’s backbone in attack and that keeping them fresh will account for a large part of the team’s success this season.
