Smyth strikes late as Queens Park Rangers peg back Preston

Queens Park Rangers drew 2-2 with Preston North End at Loftus Road on Saturday, with a late equaliser earning QPR a point that drops them from fourth to fifth and lifts Preston from 24th to 23rd.

Johnny Kenny put Preston ahead in the first minute, sweeping in after a fast break led by Stanley Mills.

Dennis Cirkin was sent off for the hosts (15.).

Kenny then struck again to put Preston in control (26.).

After the restart, substitutes tilted the game back. Kwame Poku arrowed one in from distance (66.), Alfie Lloyd hit the bar (87.) and Paul Smyth levelled from close range (90.).

Queens Park Rangers finished with 30 attempts and 60.1% possession, forcing late pressure. Preston registered 13 attempts and made 33 clearances.
