Spain marked their second world title at MetLife Stadium with restrained scenes on the pitch, then the party moved indoors. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the night mixed family moments and dressing-room revelry.

Unai Simón said he felt no emotion at the final whistle and that the achievement was still sinking in. After 50 days together and a bruising final against Argentina, tension eased.

The Royal Family congratulated the champions one by one, including Luis de la Fuente and Rafael Louzán. Players wore shirts with a second star, 16 years on from Soccer City.

On the turf, Lamine’s brother Keyne danced with the Barcelona star, played with Nico Williams and borrowed a police cap. He grabbed a piece of net and sprinted about.

Pedri kept his ritual, striking a penalty for his father Fernando to save, as usual. It honours Fernando’s abandoned goalkeeping dream when family duties intervened.

In the dressing room, Bad Bunny and Quevedo dominated the playlist, with champagne sprayed by Joan Garcia, David Raya and Víctor Muñoz. Many posted “Campeones del mundo”, while Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal smoked a cigar.

Gianni Infantino visited to congratulate the squad, hand out miniature trophy replicas and present the ring to captain Rodri. Others will receive theirs in the coming days.

After an upbeat bus ride, the team reached their hotel around 21.00 local time. Some dined, others stayed up, and Ferran Torres shared a Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve 2014 worth more than 1,000 euros with Marcos Llorente and Marc Pubill.
