Stanger strikes as Kilmarnock seize statement win at Easter Road | OneFootball

Kilmarnock beat Hibernian 1-0 at Easter Road Stadium, with Hibs dropping to ninth in the Scottish Premiership.

In the 40th minute, George Stanger swept in from close range after a corner to give the visitors the lead.

Maksymilian Stryjek was excellent, making seven saves, including smart stops to deny Jason Kerr's headers. Raphael Sallinger also kept Hibs in it with six saves.

After a triple change (53.), Hibs pushed on as Martin Boyle, Owen Elding and Nathan Lowe arrived and the hosts piled on pressure through a flurry of corners.

Joe Hugill had a goal ruled out by VAR for offside (56.). The forward then struck the right post on the break (64.).

Djenairo Daniëls received a second yellow and was sent off in the second minute of second half stoppage time.

Hibs fired 23 attempts, won 15 corners and saw 60.3% of the ball. Kilmarnock's defence stood firm, clearing 44 deliveries as Stryjek's handling underpinned the away win.
