In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Sunderland are among the clubs hoping to sign Barcelona ace Roony Bardghji. It has been mentioned that the Black Cats would have to rival Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford and Everton in the race to sign the Swedish wide player later this year.

Bardghji’s Inconsistent Season In La Liga

Bardghji endured an inconsistent campaign at the Catalan club but managed to put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old registered two goals and picked up four assists in 28 matches for Barcelona last season across various competitions.

The Swedish talent is currently among the most gifted wide players in La Liga. Hence, it is no surprise that Sunderland are in the running to land him this off-season.

His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Black Cats to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Will Bardghji Be A Good Option For Sunderland?

Bardghji is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to engineer a few key chances for his teammates in the final third. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.

The Swedish talent is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Black Cats manage to sign him in this transfer period.

We can expect Bardghji to add more firepower to Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris’ frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Wearside club in the coming seasons.
