Sunderland will compete in the Europa League next season for only the second time in their history, and they will not be short on experience.

According to Sunderland Echo, 13 current players have amassed a combined 366 appearances across the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, while nine team-mates have yet to feature in Europe.

Regis Le Bris’ side exceeded expectations in their first season back in the Premier League, finishing seventh to secure continental football alongside AC Milan, Juventus and Marseille.

Among the squad, Wilson Isidor has three European outings, two in the Europa League and one in Champions League qualifying. Trai Hume has five, one in Champions League qualifying and four in Conference League qualifying.

Melker Ellborg has seven, five in the Europa League and two in Champions League qualifying. Enzo Le Fee has nine, all in the Europa League.

That blend of seasoned performers and newcomers offers a platform as Sunderland prepare for their Europa League return.
