Sunderland’s loanees have had mixed fortunes, with Dan Neil celebrating promotion at Ipswich and Anthony Patterson and Alan Browne entering the Championship play-offs. According to Sunderland Echo, others have impressed on loan.
Neil joined Ipswich on loan in January and made 16 appearances, coming on late in a 3-0 final-day win over Queens Park Rangers that sealed a top-flight return 12 months after relegation. His future is unclear, and he has been linked with Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Patterson’s days at SAFC appear numbered. The goalkeeper joined Millwall in January, kept six clean sheets in 14 games and now hopes to help the Lions up via the play-offs.
Browne has been a steady presence for Boro, playing 39 times with four goals and three assists. They narrowly missed automatic promotion and face Southampton in a two-legged semi-final next week.
Simon Adingra has three goals in 15 for Monaco. Jenson Seelt has 10 appearances for the Bundesliga club, including a DFB-Pokal red card against Horsten Kiel, and last played in a 4-3 defeat to Freiburg in December.
Aji Alese managed one substitute appearance before a groin injury in a 1-0 defeat to Preston North End in February. Nazariy Rusyn has four goals in 24 for Arka Gdynia.
Luis Semedo has three in 19, and he has been tipped to return this summer after his loan club declined a permanent option. Zak Johnson made 25 outings as York City sealed EFL promotion on the National League’s final day.
