Wilson Isidor has been eyed as a potential attacking addition for the Hammers

Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor is reportedly open to staying at the Stadium of Light despite interest from clubs such as Championship promotion favourites, West Ham United.

That is according to Alan Nixon - via Patreon - with the Hammers said to be facing competition from both Hull City and Ipswich Town for the Haiti international's signature ahead of their respective returns to the Premier League next weekend.

Nuno Espírito Santo's side begin their league campaign on Sunday afternoon with a trip to fellow newly-relegated Burnley, with the Portuguese hoping his team can lay down an early marker in the race to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

It has been an intriguing summer transfer window at the London Stadium thus far, but a major statement was made by the East London outfit on Saturday night as they confirmed the capture of Belgian midfield ace, Arne Engels, from Celtic for a Championship record fee of £22m.

The 22-year-old joins Joel Veltman, Keiber Lamadrid and Manor Soloman on the incomings front, whilst Isidor has been earmarked as an ideal attacking reinforcement alongside AZ Alkmaar's Troy Parrott.

Isidor's immediate future at the Stadium of Light has been up for discussion whilst the striker has returned to Wearside from the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he featured for Haiti against Scotland, Brazil and Morocco.

The 25-year-old saw his gametime significantly diminish in terms of starting opportunities under Regis Le Bris last term following the arrival of Dutch frontman, Brian Brobbey, but still appeared in 32 of the Black Cats' 38 Premier League games, scoring six goals.

He has since been heavily linked with all of Hull, Ipswich and West Ham, and it was reported earlier in the month that whilst West Ham could put in a higher offer, Ipswich had lodged a £14m bid, whilst the Tigers valued his services at £12m.

However, in a fresh twist to the transfer saga, Nixon has now claimed that Isidor is wanting to double the wages of his current contract and stay with the North East side, who secured UEFA Europa League football at the end of last season.

Whilst it appears as though Isidor is in no rush to make his next career move, all three sides locked in an intense battle for his services could also be encouraged by the fact Nixon states he could still depart if Sunderland add further attacking depth to their squad.

In recent days, the Black Cats have been linked with a move for Ernest Poku of Bayer Leverkusen in a big-money transfer, but it has also been suggested that they are yet to make a concrete move for Bayer Leverkusen's Dutch attacker.

Meanwhile, they have also sold Eliezer Mayenda to Stade Rennais, meaning it doesn't come as the greatest of surprises that such a stance is being taken ahead of the September 1st deadline, whilst Isidor also featured in their final pre-season friendly against the aforementioned French outfit on Saturday.

One of the key reasons why West Ham have been earmarked as title material is the sheer strength of their attack and creative options, which has now been further added to by Engels' arrival.

Isidor, meanwhile, would add more than adequate competition for the likes of Taty Castellanos, who impressed in the Premier League following his January arrival, although his six goals couldn't aid a successful survival bid.

However, the Haitian was a key figure in the Black Cats' promotion through the play-offs two seasons ago with 12 goals, with his attributes as a well-rounded attacker causing several issues for opposition defences.
