‘Change for Tottenham’ say demonstration will take place regardless of Everton result

A Tottenham fan group has revealed fresh plans to protest against the club’s board following Sunday’s home match against Everton, regardless of the result.

And a new statement from Change for Tottenham (CFT), the fan group responsible for planning anti-board protests and shows of support for the squad, has revealed plans to continue their campaign against the board.

The statement cites the board’s indecision when it came time to replace Thomas Frank, and the misguided hire of Igor Tudor as his replacement as key moments leading to Spurs’ tailspin.

It confirmed plans to unfurl protest banners following the Everton match, regardless of the match’s outcome and whether Spurs remain in the top flight, imploring other matchgoing supporters to “join us to chant against the board and make your voices heard.”

However, CFT first called for supporters to get behind the team in full voice as they face up to a match which Roberto De Zerbi believes is more important than last season’s Europa League final.

The statement read: “This Sunday, for 90 minutes, we need to get behind the team. Nothing else matters. We need the points and the players need every one of us behind them for one last time this season.

“When the final whistle blows, regardless of the result, we need to stand up to the board for putting us in this perilous position.

“Thomas Frank should have been sacked months before he was and Igor Tudor should never have been appointed, which resulted in our worst losing run in the club’s history.”

The statement goes on, questioning the club’s inactivity in the January transfer window, where midfielder Conor Gallagher arrived as the only senior signing.

“The decline in the last seven years has been frightening, from challenging for major honours to the brink of relegation with a ‘game changing’ stadium that has changed nothing. During this failure there has been one constant - the people at the top.”
