An OM supporter says she found semen on her clothing during Sunday night’s match against Paris-FC at the Vélodrome, and reported the sexual assault on social media.
According to L'Équipe, she was due at a Marseille police station on Wednesday to file a complaint and hand over evidence, with the investigation only able to begin thereafter. The Marseille prosecutor’s office had not yet been seized on Wednesday.
OM have begun reviewing CCTV since Monday’s revelations to try to identify the attacker, who, by her account, stood behind her for a time in the north stand. She has also provided clothing details.
The club considers this type of assault to be a first. Around 100 stewards are stationed in each end of the Vélodrome, which can each hold up to 14,000 supporters on match nights.
Stewards are posted in key zones such as the capos’ platforms and intervene when issues arise or when groups call them, mainly for fights. The club is taking the matter very seriously and urges supporters to alert staff during games.
The Dodgers group in that section is working with the club and remains in close contact with the woman. Originally from Drôme and a regular home and away, she is due to meet OM on Thursday, and the club plans to support her as best it can.
