Weghorst converts as FC Twente climb to third | OneFootball

FC Twente beat ADO Den Haag 2-0 in Enschede to rise from ninth to third in the Eredivisie.

Early on, Sondre Ørjasæter struck the left post from Marko Pjaca's pass, setting the tone for sustained home pressure.

Kilian Nikiema kept ADO Den Haag level with a string of saves, repeatedly denying Wout Weghorst before the interval.

A foul by Othniël Raterink on Daouda Weidmann brought a penalty in the 61st minute. Weghorst converted low to the left. Robin Propper then headed in Weidmann's cross following a corner (74.).

There was a brief delay for treatment to Sékou Oumar Sylla late on, but the hosts stayed comfortable.
