West Ham United attacking midfielder Jarrod Bowen is set to join Aston Villa this summer, according to talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein.

The West Ham captain has been linked with an exit following their relegation to the Championship.

Villa are one of the clubs keen on the Hammers star, and Goldstein insists he is on his way to the Midlands.

“This will happen – I can’t tell you my sources, but this will happen,” he said. “Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa, you heard it here first. I’ve heard, I can’t tell you.

“It’s definitely not from Danny Dyer or any connection there. Transfer, permanent.”

While it is a huge blow for West Ham as they eye an instant return to the Premier League, it is a huge boost for the Villans if Bowen joins them.

Villa are playing in the Champions League next season, and the Hammers attacker will be an asset as they strive to make progress.

The 29-year-old bagged nine goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League games last term.

He has tallied 85 goals and 63 assists in 280 games for West Ham, and his versatility, quality and experience will hugely benefit Villa or any club he joins this summer.

Bowen can play on both wings, as a number nine and in central midfield, and he has what it takes to become a better player and finisher under Villa manager Unai Emery.
