Jude Bellingham has scored six goals at the 2026 World Cup, two in Saturday 11 July’s 2-1 quarter-final win over Norway. Behind him is father Mark, a prolific non-league striker and retired West Midlands Police sergeant.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Mark Bellingham forged a major reputation in English non-league football long before sons Jude and Jobe emerged. The 50-year-old, born in Southend and later based in the West Midlands, scored more than 700 career goals and turned out for Stourbridge, Sutton Coldfield Town and Wolverhampton Casuals.

His playing days began in the mid-80s and were nearly ended in 2001 by a second torn cruciate ligament, yet he carried on. By the late 2010s he had stepped away from non-league football and moved into veterans’ tournaments. His last team was Southam United in 2017.

Away from the pitch, he served with West Midlands Police, rising to sergeant before retiring. After leaving the force, Mark and his wife Denise focused on guiding their sons, helping Jude’s switch from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid and Jobe’s move from Sunderland to Dortmund.

When Jude left Birmingham City for Dortmund in 2020 at 17, Denise relocated with him and Mark stayed with Jobe. In 2023 Jude joined Real Madrid and Jobe signed for Sunderland, with Mark heading to the north-east and Denise moving to Spain.

Jobe has said their example taught him how to behave, to work hard and to put in the graft to achieve his goals.
