Pep Guardiola has overseen his final Manchester City training session ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League away trip to AS Monaco this week.

The Premier League side head out to the south of France this week with the aim of maintaining their fine run of form following the September international break, and building on their matchday one win in the competition.

Kevin De Bruyne made his return to the Etihad Stadium following his free transfer move to Napoli at the end of last season, in a contest that ultimately led to disappointment for the Belgian and a comfortable 2-0 win for Guardiola’s players.

That victory over the reigning Serie A champions has accompanied a host of other positive results across competitions for Manchester City, namely a 3-0 win over Manchester United, 1-1 draw away to Arsenal, and most recently, a 5-1 victory at home to Burnley.

There has also been progression in the Carabao Cup with City advancing into the fourth round of the competition via a 0-2 away win over League One outfit Huddersfield Town thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Savinho.

Now, as Manchester City finalise their preparations for matchday two of their league phase adventure in the latest edition of the UEFA Champions League, here is the complete list of players spotted on the City Football Academy pitches from the first 15 minutes of the session!

Goalkeepers: Donnarumma, Trafford, Ortega Moreno, Bettinelli.

Defenders: Lewis, Nunes, Stones, Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, O’Reilly.

Midfielders: Rodri, Nico, Reijnders, Phillips, Kovacic, Bernardo, Mukasa, Cherki, Foden.

Forwards: Bobb, Savinho, Lawrence, Haaland, Doku.

Tuesday morning’s training ground developments will come as a huge sigh of relief for supporters and coaching staff as Rodri maintains his work despite complaining of “a lot of pain” in the same knee injured last season.

That concern left the Spaniard out of the weekend’s win over Burnley, with the club left concerned over his availability in France this week. However, his return is likely to include him as part of the travelling contingent.

Rayan Cherki has now also returned to Manchester City training following a hamstring problem that has left him sidelined from action for Pep Guardiola’s side since the end of August.

All of Rayan Ait-Nouri (ankle), Abdukodir Khusanov (foot), and Omar Marmoush (knee) remain sidelined with their own respective injury problems.
