ACL2020, East Zone: Oscar affronta Iniesta, il Guangzhou di Cannavaro eliminato ai gironi | OneFootball

Si è concluso il lungo tour de force della fase a gironi della AFC Champions League nella East Zone e già da domani comincerà la fase ad eliminazione diretta. Analizziamo dunque quali saranno i confronti degli ottavi di finali che andranno a determinare la finalista che si contenderà il titolo continentale con il Persepolis.

Vi sono molti confronti interessanti in questa fase a eliminazione diretta della Champions League: Beijing Guoan e Tokyo si affronteranno e la vincitrice fra le due capitali approderà per la prima volta ai quarti di finale. Nel tabellone troviamo anche un’australiana, il Melbourne Victory, fatto inaspettato dato che erano tre edizioni che nessuna squadra della A-League raggiungeva questo traguardo. Assisteremo anche al confronto fra due grandi fantasisti come Oscar e Andres Iniesta, mentre non troveremo il Guangzhou Evergrande, con la squadra di Fabio Cannavaro clamorosamente eliminata ai gironi.

Melbourne Victory – Ulsan Hyundai

Gli australiani spezzano la maledizione che vedeva da tre anni consecutivi nessuna squadra della A-League qualificarsi per la fase ad eliminazione diretta della Champions. Il Melborune Victory ottiene la qualificazione grazie ad una vittoria per 2-1 sul Seoul Fc con reti di Rojas e Brimmer eliminando così la compagine coreana che chiude una stagione assolutamente disastrosa fra campionato e Champions. Il Melbourne affronterà agli ottavi di finale i coreani dell’Ulsan Hyundai, con quest’ultimi nettamente favoriti in questo confronto. La squadra di Junior Negao (capocannoniere della K-League) ha concluso il proprio girone con 5 vittorie ed un pareggio e nell’ultimo turno è arrivata una netta vittoria per 4-1 contro lo Shanghai Shenhua con doppietta del norvegese Bjorn Joehnsen. L’Ulsan si deve riscattare dopo aver perso sia il campionato che la finale di Coppa Nazionale.

Beijing Guoan – Tokyo

L’altro confronto degli ottavi di finale sarà fra Beijing Guoan e Tokyo FC, le due squadre della capitale. Il Beijing Guoan nella sua storia non è mai andato oltre gli ottavi di finale in Champions ma quest’anno ha tutte le carte in regola per farne di strada. I fantasisti renato Augusto e Jonathan Viera sono in forma smagliante e gli attaccanti Yuning Zhang ed il naturalizzato Alan Carvalho si sono dimostrati estremamente affidabili. Anche il Guoan ha chiuso la fase a gironi al meglio con 16 punti. Anche la Tokyo ha per la prima volta l’occasione di andare ai quarti di finale. Il club giapponese si è dimostrato essere solido e difficile da scardinare con soli 5 gol subiti nella fase a gironi.

Shanghai Sipg – Vissel Kobe

Altro confronto sino-nipponico sarà quello fra Shanghai Sipg e Vissel Kobe, ovvero fra Oscar e Andres Iniesta. Le due squadre cercano il riscatto dopo che i rispettivi campionati sono stati estremamente deludenti: il club cinese ha concluso al quarto posto, mentre il Vissel ristagna come al solito a metà classifica. Lo Shanghai Sipg dovrà forse fare ancora a meno di Hulk data la rottura con l’allenatore Vitor Pereira, ma comunque ci aspetterà un confronto molto intenso fra due compagini che ambiscono al trono d’Asia visti gli ingenti investimenti. Lo Shanghai Sipg nella stagione 2017 ha raggiunto le semifinali, mentre per il Vissel Kobe questa è la prima partecipazione assoluta in Champions League.

Suwon Bluewings – Yokohama F. Marinos

L’ultimo match della East Zone sarà quello fra Suwon Bluewings e Yokhama F. Marinos. La squadra coreana è la seconda più titolata d’Asia anche se viene da un lungo periodo di declino. Nonostante tutto il Suwon Bluewings è riuscito nell’impresa di eliminare il Guangzhou Evergrande dalla fase a gironi, con la squadra di Fabio Cannavaro che conclude la stagione senza titoli, cosa che non era mai successa dal 2011, quando il gruppo Evergrande ha preso la proprietà del club. Gli avversari del Suwon, i giapponesi dello Yokohama F. Marinos, sono stati campioni di Giappone nel 2019, ma quest’anno hanno disputato una stagione anonima in J-League. Il Tricolore rimane comunque una squadra estremamente ostica con le stelle Marcos Junior e Nakagawa che possono mettere a ferro e fuoco ogni difesa.

The long tour de force of the group stage of the AFC Champions League in the East Zone has been concluded and the knockout phase will start tomorrow. Let’s analyse what will be the comparisons of the round of 16 finals that will determine the finalist who will compete for the continental title with Persepolis.

There are many interesting comparisons in this knockout phase of the Champions League: Beijing Guoan and Tokyo will face each other and the winner between the two capitals will reach the quarter finals for the first time. There is also an Australian, the Melbourne Victory, on the scoreboard, which is unexpected given that no A-League team has reached this milestone in three editions. The other comparison of the round of 16 will be between Beijing Guoan and Tokyo FC, the two teams of the capital. Beijing Guoan in its history has never gone beyond the round of 16 in the Champions League, but this year it has what it takes to make it on the road. The fantasy players Renato Augusto and Jonathan Viera are in top form and the strikers Yuning Zhang and the naturalized Alan Carvalho have proved to be extremely reliable. The Guoan also closed the group stage at its best with 16 points. Tokyo also has the chance to go to the quarter finals for the first time. The Japanese club proved to be solid and difficult to unhinge with just 5 goals in the group stage.

Shanghai Sipg – Vissel Kobe

Another Sino-Japanese comparison will be between Shanghai Sipg and Vissel Kobe, that is, between Oscar and Andres Iniesta. The last East Zone match will be between Suwon Bluewings and Yokhama F. Marinos. The Korean team is the second most titled team in Asia even if it comes from a long period of decline. Despite all this, Suwon Bluewings has succeeded in eliminating Guangzhou Evergrande from the group stage, with Fabio Cannavaro’s team ending the season without titles, something that has never happened since 2011, when the Evergrande group took ownership of the club. Suwon’s opponents, Yokohama F’s Japanese. Marinos, were Japan’s champions in 2019, but this year they played an anonymous season in J-League. However, the Tricolore remains an extremely tough team with the stars Marcos Junior and Nakagawa who can put every defence to fire and sword.
