Angelo Peruzzi ‘in talks’ over Lazio return with Gattuso’s blessing | OneFootball

Angelo Peruzzi could return to Lazio to work alongside Gennaro Gattuso, with discussions over a role at Formello under way.

Il Messaggero reports that he could be appointed as technical director, acting as a link between head coach Gattuso and sporting director Angelo Fabiani.

He would have a say in technical matters and dressing-room dynamics.

Il Corriere dello Sport adds that president Claudio Lotito met Peruzzi at Villa San Sebastiano last week.

An agreement has not been finalised, but the report says talks are close.

Peruzzi and Gattuso have a longstanding rapport from their time with Italy and were in the 2006 World Cup-winning squad.

The 56-year-old joined Lazio in 2000 and retired in 2007, returning in 2016 as team coordinator.

He held the post for five years before leaving after disagreements with then sporting director Igle Tare.

He made 226 appearances for the club, conceding 242 goals and keeping 66 clean sheets.
