Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called on his players to not let the culture at the club be affected by a disappointing season.
Arteta has guided the Gunners to three consecutive second place finishes in the Premier League, as well as return to the Champions League which included a run to the semi-finals this campaign.
The 43-year-old was asked about his relationship with the Arsenal hierarchy, with Arteta believing everyone in the club is aligned with what is needed to improve.
“Give arguments, make sure that the context that you are saying it is not for your own benefit but is for the benefit of all of them,” Arteta said. “Then bring solutions, not the problem.
“If you bring a problem, bring solutions to that problem because if not we just bulk in problems. So do that work, find it and then find a solution immediately and we can share it and we can make the right decision after that.
“But I really enjoy it, it is phenomenal, the atmosphere that we have in there, the work. Those moments are one of the best in the season.”
After a season where north London rivals Tottenham claimed their first trophy in 17 years, and failing to capitalise on drop offs from rivals in the Premier League, Arteta’s job has been called into question by some supporters.
When asked about his performance review from the club, the Spaniard confirmed it had already started.
“Our performance review goes every two months,” he said. “That is the way we do it. Then we will see next week here with everybody that is involved.
“We will do everything that we planned and what actually happened. I will take all that and go to Spain, somewhere very quiet and start to go through that with some ideas that I already have, with some learnings that I already took.
“It is about putting that into a plan, into a vision that you can straight away, immediately and as quickly as possible, start to pass into all the staff so everybody is aligned and ready when they walk through that door to go and pursue the objectives that we have.”
