Aston Villa could push for Ruben Loftus-Cheek after Boubacar Kamara’s knee injury, The Telegraph reports. Sunderland have also been linked with the AC Milan midfielder in recent days.
Villa are also being touted for AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, with Fabrizio Romano stating that talks with Besiktas are advancing and that agreement with the player is in place, though club to club discussions are not done.
Kamara was withdrawn during the FA Cup tie with Tottenham earlier this month. Before the defeat to Everton, Unai Emery said the knee problem was being checked by doctors and might keep him out for a long time.
Scans have since indicated a worse-than-feared outcome, and he could miss the rest of the campaign. It would be his second major setback since arriving, after eight months out in 2024 with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Given Kamara’s importance and Villa’s position of third, seven points behind leaders Arsenal, replacing him could be crucial to their season. The report identified Loftus-Cheek as a candidate.
Abraham, who is on loan at Besiktas, has also been linked with Sunderland. He previously had a loan spell at Villa while at Chelsea.
