In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Barcelona are preparing to move in for Crystal Palace talent Daniel Munoz. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are ready to launch an offer close to €30m to sign the Colombian right-back next year.

Munoz’s Good Run Of Form In The Premier League This Season

Munoz is having a great campaign at the London club as he has been responsible for putting in a string of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The Colombian sensation has played in 15 matches for the Eagles this season, scoring two goals and picking up two assists in various competitions.

The 29-year-old has been a reliable performer for Crystal Palace on the right flank and deserves credit for making 27 tackles, 11 blocks, 11 interceptions and 37 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 73.2% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Catalan club to sign him on the cheap next year.

Is Munoz A Good Fit For Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick?

Munoz is a solid tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and can make some driving runs with the ball as well on the right flank.

The Colombian talent can contribute by scoring or creating the odd goal for his team. Munoz mainly operates as a right-back but can also function as a centre-back if required. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in La Liga.

Munoz would no doubt enhance the quality of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp.

At 29, Munoz is playing in his prime, which makes him a decent fit for the Catalan club’s needs in the short term. Thus, Flick should focus on going all out to get him on board next year.
