Barcelona lose 22-year-old midfielder to muscle injury for three weeks | OneFootball

The recent victory over Getafe was a big one for FC Barcelona. Overcoming an opponent that is usually quite frustrating to beat, the Catalan giants convincingly took them apart and put on a great show for the fans.

Unfortunately, the celebrations were cut short due to the injury to Fermin Lopez near the end of the game. Clearly in pain, the Spaniard was seen lying down on the ground as the medical staff treated him, and his teammates gathered around.

Now, it has been officially confirmed that the player is indeed injured and Barcelona expect him to be sidelined for three weeks. During this time, however, he is set to miss some big fixtures for the team.

According to the information provided by SPORT, the player will miss the games against Real Oviedo away from home, Real Sociedad at home,  the much-anticipated UEFA Champions League clash against Paris-Saint Germain, and the subsequent La Liga game against Sevilla.

After that, the next international break will kick off, and that should give Lopez the right amount of time to make a return in time for the game against Girona right afterwards. Still, considering the form he was in, the Spaniard would not have wanted to miss any of these upcoming games.
