Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski joined a pair of Real Madrid icons in the Spanish football history books on Sunday night.

This came courtesy of the Pole’s latest haul in front of goal.

Lewandowski of course proved himself the star of the show yesterday evening, as Barcelona locked horns with Celta Vigo in a La Liga clash.

En route to a 4-2 triumph for the visitors to Balaídos, the 37-year-old notched a hat-trick, on his return to starting duties in Hansi Flick’s squad.

And as alluded to above, in the process, Lewandowski also secured for himself a piece of goalscoring history.

As revealed by statisticians StatMuse, prior to Sunday, Real Madrid legends Alfredo Di Stéfano and Ferenc Puskás were the only players to score three or more La Liga hat-tricks after turning 35 years of age.

Lewandowski, though, has now managed the same, no doubt eyeing a record haul of four before the season is out.
