Bayern Munich exercise buy-back option for Noël Aséko Nkili | OneFootball

Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich have activated their buy-back clause on Hannover midfielder Noël Aséko Nkili.

As reported last month, Bayern retained a €2.4m option on re-signing Aséko after Hannover exercised their purchase option following a successful loan spell.

The 20-year-old has featured in 26 games across all competitions for Die Roten this season, returning three goals and providing five assists in the 2. Bundesliga.

According to Plettenberg, Aséko will have a chance to prove himself to Vincent Kompany in pre-season but could still be sold should a suitable offer arrive.

Could Noël Aséko Nkili represent Equatorial Guinea?

The German youth international hasn’t ruled out representing Equatorial Guinea. 

“My parents are from Equatorial Guinea and my family lives there,” said the 20-year-old. “The federation has already asked if I’d like to play for them, but I don’t have an Equatorial Guinea passport.” 

When asked if he would be interested in representing his family’s country, Aséko revealed: “You shouldn’t rule out any options. Everything is possible.”
